World-Renowned Guest Speakers
Just because the instructors of Avenue Five are trained by some of Vidal Sassoon's top educators, that doesn't mean we can't bring this same quality education directly to our students. Guest speakers and specialty classes are all part of creating a highly qualified graduate. Here are just a few of the talented artists that Avenue Five Institiute has been proud to host:

  • Kevin Murphy - Hailing form Australia, Kevin has been an editoral and session stylist for over 20 years. Since being awarded the prestigious honor of Austrialian Master at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards in 2007, he remains at the forefront of modern hair styling.

  • Douglas Parks - Owner and creator of R Tistic Salon and Education in San Clemente, CA. After graduating from the Vidal Sassoon Academy in LA, Douglas has spent years instructing in salons and schools around the world.

  • Sarab Samarah- Director of education for Raffco and Davines International. In addition to working as a stylist in California, Sarab travels the country educating in salons and schools.

  • Allen Ruiz - North American Hairstylist Awards's 2007 Hairstylist of the Year and co-founder of Jackson Ruiz Salon and Spa in Austin, TX.

  • Robear Landeros - Part of the award winning BIA Artistic Team, Robear is an accomplished platform artist that can be seen presenting on the countries' top stages. When he isn't traveling, he can be found behind the chair at the Parlour on 3rd in Los Angeles.

  • Felicity Davis - Since traveling the world as an educator for numerous international haircair companies, Felicity has recently joined Kevin Murphy's artisitc team. Her responsibities include education throughout Europe and Australia as well as launching the brand in the US.

  • Vidal Sassoon Creative Team- Internationally recognized educators from the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica visit Avenue Five annually to train staff and students

  • Other Local Professionals include- Rudolph Leon Gurrero, Evelyn Jackson, Ryan Driggers, PJ Brown, as well as many many other very accomplished local stylists
